Women's Equality Day serves as a reminder of the importance of exercising the right to vote. At Panorama, we believe that a thriving government must reflect the diversity of its people and enable citizens to vote for leaders who represent them. This is why The Ascend Fund, powered by Panorama Global, pools philanthropic capital to invest in nonpartisan, nonprofit organizations dedicated to breaking down the barriers that prevent women from running for office - and winning.

While the week of the UN General Assembly is generally a three-ring circus, this year’s circus was on steroids, filled from early morning to late at night with meetings, panels, and cocktail parties to fill the gap since the last full-scale UNGA week in 2019.

Parity is possible in our lifetime because transformational organizations like these are building a pathway to public office for women. These organizations empowered women to make historic strides in 2018 and 2020 and they're poised to make 2022 the best year yet for women’s representation.

This week marks the end of the UN's 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence, which is pervasive in our society and cuts across work, social, educational, and familial lives. This year, we’d like to highlight two incredible pieces of work from our ambitious partners.

To rapidly accelerate the pace of change toward gender parity in state legislatures, pivotal policymaking bodies, The Ascend Fund is making targeted, transformational investments in 13 state and local organizations in Michigan, Mississippi, and Washington.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, support and encourage Latinas in the political sphere – whether they are running for office, currently in office, or working in politics – and the organizations that are working to empower Latinas to run for office
