With World Mental Health Day taking place earlier in October, our team has taken some time to reflect on the past two years of our work at The Upswing Fund.

New grant awards reflect The Upswing Fund’s commitment to provide critical resources to front-line organizations serving adolescents of color and LGBTQ+ youth

A year ago this week, The Upswing Fund launched in response to an alarming decline in adolescent mental health exacerbated by COVID-19.
While government agencies are slower to move resources in response to real-time and evolving needs, philanthropy can act quickly and mobilize resources through rapid-response grantmaking.
Over the past year, I’ve learned so much about mental health, from both a personal and a professional perspective. My hope is that the open dialogue we are having about mental health leads to more resources and treatment so the next generation doesn’t have to experience what so many face today.
Today, The Upswing Fund for Adolescent Mental Health, an initiative of Panorama Global, announced $380,000 in funding to four new grant recipients. In March 2021, The Upswing Fund distributed their first round of grants, and to-date has awarded over $11 million to 92 non-profit organizations.
Today is the first-ever Mental Health Action Day, and Panorama and The Upswing Fund for Adolescent Mental Health are proud to be among its inaugural partners.
