Andrea Ackerman is a Program Officer for the Scalable Solutions team. In her role she provides strategic oversight for a portfolio of fiscally sponsored organizations and initiatives across multiple issue areas, including human rights and gender equity, working closely with a range of partners to support this work.
Andrea joined Panorama most recently from the Fair Work division of the International Migration Initiative at Open Society Foundations in New York City. There she coordinated grantmaking, advocacy, and campaigns to ensure that migrants, women, and other excluded workers are employed under just and equitable conditions in order to build worker power and inclusive, regenerative economies. Prior to joining OSF, Andrea worked at the political risk consulting firm Eurasia Group, where she helped launch the Eurasia Group Foundation.
Andrea earned her MS in Global Affairs from New York University with concentrations in transnational security and gender, during which she piloted field research across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, the Netherlands, and in Rwanda. She received her BA in Political Science from Georgia State University and is an Atlanta native.
When she’s not collaborating to find creative solutions to global problems, Andrea enjoys writing, swimming, visiting her favorite coffee shops and restaurants, and spending time with loved ones.
